This is in light of the fact that the Uttar Pradesh government has recently carried out a nearly across the board salary review for state employees. Those who are gets employed in the government departments, aided educational institutions, technical institutions, urban bodies, and UGC salary will get benefit from this decision. It is one of the means of helping employees, despite the increasing inflation rate, according to the government.
Hike in Dearness Allowance (DA)
The government has increased the Dearness Allowance for the employees under the 5th, 6th and 7th Pay commissions.
Fifth Pay Commission Employees:
Their DA has thus risen from 443% to 455% – a rise of 12%.

Workers that fall under this category are now to be paid a DA of 246%, an increase of 7% from the previous 239%.

Earlier in the month of October, the DA structure for employees under this category saw an increase from 50% to 53%.
Effective Date
From the Effective Date of July 1, 2024, employees will be paid the new DA. The announcement means that employees including pensioners save some cash amidst inflation. One important point concerned with the above prices is that pensioners will also observe an equivalent uplift in Dearness Relief (DR).
Diwali Bonus for Employees
In October the Yogi government had also announced the Diwali bonus for around 14.82 lakh employees. The bonus made the government spend ₹1,025 crores more than it has, putting pressure in the state exchequer. However, the government was able to make corresponding timely payments for the increased salaries and bonuses before the end of October, 30th.
Beneficiaries
This raise in pay and bonus shall impact a lot of state employees whereby such hikes cuts across all sectors. The government has also rest assured its population that its goal is to enhance the financial health of its employees.
This Social Welfare Scheme of UP government shows a good attitude towards social security and financial help to persons in employer organization during an unfavorable or slow moving economy.
